We gather here at a time of significance and challenge.   This young century has been a difficult one.  I will never forget the bright September day, standing at my desk in the White House, when my young assistant said that a plane had hit the World Trade Center — and then a second one — and a third, the Pentagon.  And then the news of a fourth, driven into the ground by brave citizens that died so that many others would live.  From that day on our sense of vulnerability and our understanding of security would be altered forever.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie largely avoided factual claims in a Republican convention keynote address that was heavy on generalities, opinion and platitudes. The pugnacious former prosecutor exaggerated a bit, though, when he bragged about his accomplishments as governor, and he repeated the common but false claim that the president’s health care law interferes with the doctor-patient relationship.

The alleged plot emerged during a murder case against four members of the Forever Enduring Always Ready (FEAR) gang on Tuesday.

Prosecutors say the men spent $87,000 (£56,000) on weapons to launch attacks against targets including vehicles belonging the Department of Homeland Security employees and a dam.

They were also accused said to be planning to take over the Fort Stewart military base near to the court in Georgia.

According to the Associated Press, prosecutor Isabel Pauley told the judge: “This domestic terrorist organisation did not simply plan and talk.

“Evidence shows the group possessed the knowledge, means and motive to carry out their plans.”

“All members of the group were on active-duty or were former members of the military,” Pauley said.

Glycolaldehyde is needed to form ribonucleic acid, or RNA, which is similar in function to DNA.

Jes Jorgensen of the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark, said Wednesday that the glycolaldehyde was likely formed by radiation from the star hitting even simpler molecules floating through space.

The star, called IRAS 16293-2422, is about 400 light years from Earth.

One major reason: The residency programs to train new doctors are largely paid for by the federal government, and the number of students accepted into such programs has been capped at the same level for 15 years. Medical schools are holding back on further expansion because the number of applicants for residencies already exceeds the available positions, according to the National Resident Matching Program, a 60-year-old Washington-based nonprofit that oversees the program.

More importantly, this SEC filing represents W. Mitt Romney as “the sole shareholder, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of BCI, BCP VI Inc., Brookside Inc. and Sankaty Ltd” (emphasis mine).  That pretty much speaks for itself–he’s not only the chair, CEO, and president of Brookside, but also Bain Capital Investments (“BCI”) and other the other Bain parties involved in the acquisition.  This kind of declaration is repeated over and over throughout the document.

Moreover, unlike many of the other SEC filings, including the SEC filings for the acquisition of Global-Tech Appliances that David Corn exposed three days ago, W. Mitt Romney actually signed this one:

Short post, but it doesn’t take much to uncover racism.

What the hell is going on down there? First there’s word of food being thrown at a member of the media, then there’s this piece in Harpers. Apparently the delegates booed the Puerto Rican speaker. Why? Because she has an accent I guess.
