The app, what she calls the “Pocket Archivist,” is an example of the type of collaboration that gets America closer to “government of the people, by the people, for the people,” says Wright.“We would like to create an app for engagement,” she said. “We want to create a simple tool for citizens that will allow them to contribute to our mission of providing better access to our records. And the records we are talking about are the permanent records of the federal government. We hold American history in our hand. We want to share it, and we know there are citizens who want to help.”
